Weddings’ aren’t a simple thing to put together, and choosing your venue is no different. Venue selection is one of the first and most exciting adventures you will be taken on as the soon to be Mr and Mrs.
It’s a time where the vision for your special day becomes a reality. Your imagination on how everything is going to fall into place comes to life. This is your day.
Please consider a few helpful hints below when on the hunt for your perfect venue. Good luck 😊
Date and Availability
It is best to have a time of year in mind. Many Brides and Grooms will have a preferred month or season in which they are wanting to have their wedding. It you narrow it down to a particular date this will discount many venues very quickly, as venues book up fast! Be open and explore a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, lunch may even be an option you could explore.
Do Your Research
Contact the venue directly and have a chat, run through what they are able to offer and get a feel for the service they provide. Always make a time to visit, walk through, sit enjoy a coffee and imagine your day.
It’s good to have a general idea of the region you would like to get married. This doesn’t have to be specific but it will help when comparing venues. A lot of time can be spent looking at polar opposite venues and makes it very hard to decide, as well as becoming quite stressful.
Think about the top 3 things important to you in a venue. Is it the dancefloor to party the night away, an intimate space which feels like Sunday lunch at Mum’s house or it may be that there is a lounge area in front of the open fire? Whatever the reason make sure you select a venue that is going to accommodate the things that mean the most to you.
Does the venue offer the flexibility you need to customise your perfect day? Select a venue that is going to work with you and shares the enthusiasm of delivering a wedding that is unique to the both of you. Remember, no two weddings are ever the same and it is the small touches that makes it yours.
Accommodation and Access
You want your guests to enjoy your wedding without having to organise transportation or be the designated driver. It’s wise to consider when selecting your venue how much accommodation you require for your family and friends. Many of your guests attending may be travelling from Interstate or overseas.
Ensure your desired venue has sufficient accommodation, think about carparking, is there enough and is it easily accessible. Is there a charge? Is there a reservations manager to assist with bookings?
