Every Mount Lofty House wedding reception is unique. Originally built by Arthur Hardy in 1852 as his Summer residence, Mount Lofty House was the celebration destination for the pinnacle of high society at the time. Today more than 160 years later the tradition lives on.

Here at Mount Lofty House we tailor everything to make your dream day a reality. Our venue, catering and team here highlight the amazing venue, bringing the gardens and the spectacular view into your guests experience. We have been recognized as the premier wedding venue in South Australia by the Australian Bridal Industry Awards where we were named best hotel wedding reception venue in South Australia for the past two years.

To complement the heritage venue and one of the best views in the state we provide unique experiential dining options. In 1852 Arthur’s dinners were famous for the Gueridon trolleys and food being prepared at the table.

Today our chef, Amit Laud, has brought this concept into today and provide experiential live cooking stations in our manicured gardens looking out over the Piccadilly Valley. Some of these options include outdoor cocktail bars, American style ribs straight from the smoker, Japanese charcoal barbeque, gelato carts or even champagne and fresh oysters being schucked to order for your guests.

He is passionate about the amazing food we have available here in South Australia and loves to customize his menus to make your day perfect.

The traditional

Is the perfect menu options for couples wanting to experience a traditional sit down meal.
Your loved ones will be welcomed to our house and enjoy 30 minutes of chef Amit’s custom made canapes, all while enjoying the views of the Piccadilly Valley.
To follow family and friends will be treated to a delicious alternate service entrée, mains and dessert including tea and coffee.
(wedding cake can be served in place of dessert)

The generous host

Every couple wants their family and friends to have a fantastic dining experience at their wedding.
Our shared platter style service is guaranteed to get your guests chatting at the dining table and create a relaxed atmosphere.
As with ‘the traditional’ guests will enjoy 30 minutes of pre-reception canapes in our manicured gardens and to follow a three course shared platter service with matching accompaniments and sides.

The experience

Live flambéed brulees, cocktail barmen, Nitro oyster stations or a fire wall spit roast sound interesting? Our chef is pushing boundaries in experiential dining experiences for your guests. When combined with the amazing view over the Piccadilly Valley and the garden surrounds our outdoor catering options are unparalleled in South Australia.
The experience package includes two manned food experience stations, canapes in the gardens, a dessert buffet and late night platters.
